MAP Internet, Inc., a Massachusetts corporation, was founded in March of 1993 as Mallard Electronics. MAP Internet connected its first Internet customer, Crane Paper of Dalton, to the Internet that May. Our mission was then, and still is, to provide the best possible Internet resource for our community. MAP began offering dialup PPP access from its West Springfield office in July of 1994. During 1995, the "World Wide Web" took off and MAP was here to help local companies like Merriam-Webster and Smith and Wesson build their first presence on the Web. During 1996 and 1997, MAP Internet expanded its product line to keep pace with new technologies, including 56K modems, ISDN, Frame Relay, Centrex services, and advanced Web Hosting. In 1998, MAP Internet constructed an underground carrier-class telecommunications hub in Downtown Springfield, and expanded its local dialup presence throughout most of the 413 area code. As the Internet continues to evolve at a mind-numbing pace, MAP is evolving with it. Today, MAP Internet operates an advanced data network and server facility, and remains committed to the business and residential Internet needs of Western Massachusetts. In May of 2000, MAP began offering a multitude of DSL packages to residential and business customers in Western Massachusetts. Through the evolution of its product offerings, MAP Internet is now your complete source for Internet Connectivity. Our consultative approach and dedication to Quality of Service has enabled us to remain a step ahead of the competition in this ever-changing industry.
